Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Bissell 1867-7 Steam Mop Hard-Floor Cleaner, Green TeaCustomer Review: Great mop Summary: 4 StarsI really like this mop. It's easy to push and less work then regular mopping. My only complaint is that one of the pads has already torn and it doesn't get my grout clean. Other than that I'm very happy with it and glad I bought it.
Customer Review: Good Value Summary: 4 StarsWhenever I buy a product I look for value. That little word sure has to cover a lot of ground. The Bissell Steam Mop's greatest asset is that it is easier than the next step up which is getting on your hands and knees. It doesn't use any chemicals, so you don't have to worry about he effects of chemicals on your floor's finish. We use this mop on our hardwood floors and it leaves them looking shiny and new.
This steam mop isn't perfect by any means, but what product is? The cord is a tad short, and the resevoir could be considered smallish if you have a large floor to clean. It does leave water on the floor, but I don't know of any design that could avoid this problem. You are sending steam through a pad and wiping the floor with that same pad. It's going to get saturated quickly. Frankly, the floor dries rather quickly, so I don't see waiting 15 minutes for it to dry as being much of a problem.
I have found that this steam mop is well worth the price. It saves a lot of work, is gentle on the floor since it uses no chemicals, and is rather simple to use. I would be surprised if a product costing twice as much could do twice as good of a job. We have given these mops as gifts and have heard nothing but praise from recipients. Buy with confidence.
Customer Review: Don't buy!!! Summary: 1 StarsI bought this for $60 and returned it after using it twice. It left my floor so wet, I about broke my neck walking on it tring to finish my kitchen. I then sat on the phone with customer serice for an hour and all they did is make it worse. They were just as much of a joke as their product. Never would I recommend this product.... Do not waste your time... Or money... I am still looking for a steam mop at a good price. Any recommendations?
Customer Review: Disappointed Summary: 1 StarsI received this today, and was extremely disappointed. It NEVER heated up. I am returning it. I have recently tried the Shark steam mop (blue) and I really liked it, but it did not have a swivel head, so I returned it and tried this one. This did not heat up after 20 minutes, so I tried it anyway even though the light was still red. It makes an awful noise. Overall, horrible. I recommend the Shark instead, it was so much easier to use, but if you need the swivel head it may not be great.
Customer Review: LOOKS GOOD, CLEANS POORLY Summary: 2 StarsLike everyone else that reads these reviews I thought the Bissell would work better than the flimsy Shark. Nope not in my book anyway. I ordered the Bissell from Amazon and when I tried it on my tile kitchen floor, I was unimpressed with the result. Less steam, poor cleaning. Poor grout cleaning was especially noticeable. I returned the Bissell (something I rarely do ), and got the Shark from Costco. As the reviews say, it is flimsy but it cleaned better, especially when you use short jerky strokes that makes more steam. If you do choose the Shark and get it at Costco, make sure you open the box and count the 5 pads. The california thieves removed them in 3 of the boxes I checked before I found an unopened one.
