Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Bissell 2080 Quicksteamer Powerbrush Lightweight Upright Deep Cleaner Carpet CleanerCustomer Review: Surprisingly perfect for our home Summary: 5 StarsI was really impressed with this little guy and it's easier to use than other ones (The holder for the dirty water is very easy to remove). I had an old stain from when we bought our house that came out after the first try.
Others have noted that you have to spray ahead of time, which is true and I tend to scrub as well and then go over with the steamer. I also tend to over wet and then spend much more time getting up as much moisture as possible.
As to the fact that it doesn't warm the water? I put hot water in before using and it seriously has helped save our carpets that have taken a beating from some rescued dogs learning to be house broken. It has kept me from having to get new carpets which would have been much more expensive.
This is not for a large house but it's fine if you have just a small amount of carpet and you don't mind putting in a bit of work.
Customer Review: Good, but not great... Summary: 3 StarsI like this quicksteamer, every time I empty the tank, its dirty and it picks up plenty of pet hair, dirt, and debris. The cleaning solution works very well and can be bought infused with different scents. The carpet doesn't take too long to dry (about and hour and a half on average) and the unit itself is lightweight and easy to control. However, it does have it's fair share of cons too. When the dirty water tank needs too be removed, it must be held perfectly level, because there are two holes, one on the top and one on the side. this design flaw sometimes creates a mess on the rug you just cleaned. Two, as other reviewers pointed out, it is not a "steamer"; no steam is created and the water that comes out is only as hot/warm as the water you placed in the tank. Three, the water tank is small, and if you hold down the trigger as often as I do, you'll be refilling it 5 or 6 times for a 14 x 14 room, which can get annoying. Last, the belt and the motor that moves it is VERY cheap and it affects the spinning of the brush which essentially cleans the carpet. The belt is stretched easily and the motor which spins the belt is not securely in place, which affects the speed/strength of the rotating brush. It cleans better than a vacuum, but less then a real carpet cleaner. Not a replacement for regular professional carpet cleaners.
Customer Review: Cleans well for the price Summary: 4 StarsUsed it on an area rug & landing at the top of the stairs. Contains just the right amount of water for these smaller spaces. Cleaned well & was easy to use. For the landing, I will still use a rental machine or have someone professionally clean in a year, but this tides me over between cleanings - especially since I have two long-hair cats.
Good value.
Customer Review: Carpet Cleaner Summary: 5 StarsThe Bissell cleaner did an excellent job. I had dirt left on my carpet from a commercial cleaner that I had rented previously. This little cleaner removed it. It also is light enough to manuever easily. A great product.
Customer Review: Bissell Summary: 5 StarsI used this product as soon as I received it. Works as promised. Have also Bissell's Little Green Machine for over 10 years
